I played NBA 2k16 on ios a lot. I have to say that i expected more from the sequel. The game feels unfinished and unpolished. The graphics and player movement are better, but the rest not. So you have the same modes like last year, but thats ok because its mobile game so you cant expect the same depth from the console.
Of course the main thing is my career. From the start in player creation you cant rotate the head all the way. You cannot add muscle deffinition. The haircuts are the same as last year.
Now player creation in my career:
- you cannot choose weight
- you cannot choose age, birthday, origin an so on
- you cannot choose jumpshot, crossover etc, so you are stuck with the standard animation for the college games
- you are a specialised role player, so if you can dribble or defend you cant shoot, if you can shoot then you cant pass and so on. If i want to create a potential all around basketball god(like in 2k16 ios) i should be able to do so, because its only me against the ai
- no commentary during college games
So you get drafted and here you see that the game isnt polished. in my endoursements theres a message callibg you Freq. Is the story from 2k16 console version been ported on a mobile device?
So my career mode is like sports rpg. Great you have to make friends with nba stars so that you can buy armbands, leggins and shoes that give you an attribute increase. Talk about realism, i of course want a shield too that protects me from voodoo curses when i play against new orleans (you never know). I dont have a problem with in game purchase but equipment tha makes you a better play maker( 2k16 was also weird in this aspect with the boosts, talk about doping).
The choosing jumpshot, crossover an so on. A lot less customisation options compared to last year.
Again make friend with a star so that you can buy an athletic tomohawck dunk. Really?
So again i dont expect a game so complex as the console version, but this is just plain poor.
